| General Note |
- General note - Seen in photo is the facade of the church in Abucay, Bataan, which was placed under the care of the Dominicans in 1588. The town claims the distinction of being the second Dominican vicariate to be established in the Philippines, next only to Manila. The missionaries originally named the town Santo Domingo, but by 1646, it came to be known as Abucay, believed to be derived from the Tagalog word "abu" or ash.
