- General note - A photoengraving of the Basilica of St. Martin of Tours in Taal, Batangas, the first Christian mission founded in the province by Augustinian missionaries in 1572. The church covers half a hectare of land and is as tall as a fourteen-storey building. A Libro de Obra shows that its construction began in July, 1857 under the direction of Fray Marcos Anton, and according to the plans drawn by Manila architect Don Luciano Oliver.
