| General Note |
- General note - Behind the church is the parish convent, built in 1602 by Father Juan de Torres. In 1605, part of the convent was used as a seminario or a boarding school for native children, where they were taught the Christian doctine, reading, writing and music. The annual stipend received by the Jesuit missionaries was used to maintain the school and pay for the salary of the schoolmaster. (also see CH00173) YYY
