- General note - A photoengraving of the historic Barasoain church. On August 22, 1898, President Emilio Aguinaldo declared Malolos as the seat of the revolutionary government. Consequently, on September 15, 1898, fifty delegates assembled in the church for the inaugural session of what has come to be known as the Malolos Congress, who later framed the constitution of the republic.
