| General Note |
- General note - The parish of Goa started as a small mission post in a barrio called "Salog," established in 1701 by Fray Matias de Valdesoto. In 1777 the parish and the municipality of Goa were created and the townsite was transferred south of the river Colasi along the slope of Mount Isarog. Its first church, of wood and nipa thatching, was subsequently built. The second and present church, this time made of stone, was built some time during the latter half of the 19th century after the townsite was transferred for the second time. In the photo is the second and present church. Arresting features of the starkly simple facade are three lantern-like bell "towers." YYY
