| General Note |
- General note - Another photo of the church built in honor of Saints Philip and James the Less, showing stairs that lead to the belfry, lining the pediment. Foreground and background on the extreme left show catenated atrium walls. The town of Lagonoy, according to one version, was named after the vine "hagonoy" which the Spaniards found difficult to pronounce; hence, the corruption of the term. On the other hand, another version maintains that the town''s name took after "lagño na, noy," a phrase addressed to someone already drunk or intoxicated. (also see CH00340) YYY
