| General Note |
- General note - The first chapel of cogon and bamboo was built in 1711 and dedicated to Our Lady of Peñafrancia by the Rev. Miguel de Covarrubias, a devotee. During the incumbency of Bishop Isidoro de Arevalo (1740-1751), the present stone and mortar building was erected. The shrine was heavily damaged by a typhoon in 1960 resulting in a new roofing and repainting. (also see CH00367) YYY
