General Note |
- General note - Established by Frays Pablo de Jesus and Bartolome Ruiz in 1578, the parish of Quipayo served as a mother parish to many parishes that were subsequently separated from it. Originally missionary stations of Quipayo were Calabanga, Cabusao, Barceloneta, Libmanan, and Bombon. Quipayo''s original church was made of wood and nipa. In 1616, a brick structure was built to replace the original church. Fray Francisco Gaviria supervised the construction of this church, ruins of which are shown in the photo. (also see CH00370) YYY
