  • General note - Detail of the iron pulpit bearing the insignia of the Bishop of Cebu. It shows the ecclesiastical hat (low-crowned, flat and wide-brimmed) with 12 tassels dangling from the sides. Since 1595, southern Visayas and the Mindanao area have been under the jurisdiction of the Cebu diocese. In 1934, Cagayan was made a separate diocese with the provinces of Misamis (including Camiguin), Lanao, Bukidnon, Surigao and Agusan under its pastoral care. (also see CH00393) YYY
