| General Note |
- General note - Concrete church of Mambajao, capital of the subprovince of Camiguin, constructed by John A. Pallock, an American Jesuit named parish priest in 1934. Construction started in 1934, and blessed two years later by Bishop James T. G. Hayes of the Cagayan diocese. By 1940, the church was finished. The lumber of the previous church constructed in 1892 was utilized. Once a part of Catarman, Mambajao was established as a separate parish in 1885. Parishioners selected as patron saint Nicolas de Tolentino, also the patron saint of the Recollects who succeeded the Jesuits in Camiguin. The new parish embraced the area from Tupsan to Agoho, and grew into a big, prosperous parish after the eruption of Da-an Volcano which devastated Catarman. Valero Salvo, S.J., was the first parish priest. (See CH00396)
