| General Note |
- General note - Capiz was created as a separate province in 1976. Efforts to divide it into two provinces-with one to be called Aklan-did not materialize until April 25, 1956, during the incumbency of President Ramon Magsaysay. The capital of the province, formerly Capiz, was renamed Roxas City in honor of President Manuel A. Roxas, illustrious son of that province. (See CH00400)
