| General Note |
- General note - The grand altar, in the baroque style of the early 18th century and made of mixed steel and wood, is now petrified. Central image is that of Our Lady of the Assumption, the patroness of the parish. In the first story, center, is the 17th century crucifix, about four feet and a half high. The artistry of the image of the crucified Christ reflects the style of the Romanticist of the later 17th century. The details are very much to life. A long hair flows over the right shoulder, a style not found in modern crucifixes; shining bluish-black veins are showing out at both outstretched arms of Jesus; and the joints in the sagging right leg can be felt as alive with muscles and hard bones.
