- Notes - The second oldest settlement known in Cavite was Silang, located by the banks of two river: Malaking ilog and Tibagan. The Franciscans ministered the town from 1585 to 1599. The Jesuit Fathers took over upon their withdrawal and made Silang their central residence in the province. Shown is the town''s stone and brick church, circa 1897.
