| General Note |
- General note - Originally built in 1835. Facade has been restored and bell tower reconstructed. Catmon lies 57.4 kms. north of Cebu City. The old town site, now called Catmondaan, is 5 kms. south. During the Revolution of 1898, Catmon became one of the centers of the movement in Cebu. It was at Cagayan mountain in the barrio of Cambangkaya where General Arcadio Maxilom retreated and hid after his forces were defeated by the Americans. From this hideout, he issued orders to the scattered remnants of his troops. Catmon has been named after a tree found there. YYY
