- General note - Photo of the restored church of the parish, originally a part of Bantay, Ilocos Sur. In 1742, it was made an independent parish and the brick church was started by Fr. Tomas Millan, a Spanish priest of Vigan, who became the first parish priest, Fr. Miguel Padilla, parish priest from 1825 to 1869, made many improvements on the church. In 1939, the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Crisanto Padernal plastered and painted the church which stood as a gem of church architecture in the Ilocos regions. Both tower and presbytery were damaged and the Rectory completely ruined by the earthquakes of June 12 and 22, 1957. YYY
