- General note - The parish of Cabatuan was founded in 1720, placed under the advocation of San Nicolas de Tolentino. The church, one of the largest in Panay, was constructed in 1732, built in the neo-classic style. (Source: Angels in Stone, Fr. Pedro Galende, O.S.A., 1996) Cabatuan is 24 kilometers from Iloilo city and has one of the largest churches in the entire province. The church was built in the same Augustinian neo-classic style. Constructed in 1732, some 12 years after the parish was founded, it was enlarged and improved by Fr. Ramon Alquezar who was parish priest from 1833 to 1865.YYY
