| General Note |
- General note - Facade of the church of Dumangas which has never been fully restored after its destruction during the revolution in 1898. The Gothic church was built of white coral and red bricks in 1887 by Fr. Fernando Llorente although it was Fray Juan de Alva who built the town''s first church shortly after he became its first priest in 1569. Restoration of the church was started in the latter half of the 1960''s, during the term of Rev. Ignacio Dionela. The image of the patron, St. Augustine is seen at the tympanum above the main entrance. Huge statues of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and of the Immaculate Heart of Mary stand on both sides of the main door in the church portico. (also see CH00572) YYY
