| General Note |
- General note - Facade of the reconstructed Jaro cathedral which is basically similar in design and structure to the original built by Bishop Mariano Cuartero shortly after the diocese was established in 1867. The original cathedral was made of hewn stone blocks and had a separate bell tower standing across it; the present cathedral is of reinforced concrete with a pair of belfries attached to the main structure. The cathedral was heavily battered in 1945 when the Americans bombed the Mandurriao airport on February 20 and by the earthquake of 1948. (See CH00589)
