| General Note |
- General note - Photo shows vaulted nave of the cruciform church lined on each side by fluted Corinthian columns measuring some 20 to 25 feet high. Aisles on both sides of the nave have groin-vaulted ceilings which are supported on one side by columns (also supporting the nave ceiling) and on the other side by pilasters set against the wall. The Dominicans built the original church of San Jose of hewn stone and lumber. (also see CH00622) YYY
