| General Note |
- General note - Although the Augustinians pioneered and subsequently took charge of the ecclesiastical needs of Biñan up to 1637, the parish was established only in 1750 by the Dominicans. Rev. Jose Monroy, its first parish priest who assumed office in 1757, was a Filipino. Photo shows the reconstructed church of Biñan, erected on November 23, 1968, and inaugurated 4 months later. On the facade is an image of the patron saint, San Isidro Labrador, whose feast is celebrated every 30th of May, while to its left is the belfry which was finished on May 13, 1929. The first parish church was demolished by the earthquake in 1862 and again in 1880. The second one was reconstructed in 1892; and was remodeled and enlarged in 1953, only to be gutted by fire in 1968. YYY
