| General Note |
- General note - This church in Malate was one of earliest churches built by the Augustinians in Manila. The patroness of the parish is Nuestra Señora de los Remedios, and her image enshrined in the church was claimed to have been brought from Spain in 1624 by Fray Juan Guevara. When the British forces landed in Manila in 1772, the British army used the church as their headquarters, and from there laid siege on Manila. The edifice was damaged during an earthquake in 1863 and later during the Liberation in 1945. It is one of the best restored churches in the country today. Today, it is one of the restored churches of the country, with its mellow-looking stones and baroque features, the stone walls with its leveled-edge buttresses, its remodeled interior, and other modifications.
