| General Note |
- General note - The church of Our Lady of Lourdes in Intramuros, situated along General Luna Street. In-charge of its administration are the Capuchin Fathers, who belong to one of the branches of the Franciscan Order. Formed in 1520 by Matteo di Bassi, their work consisted mainly of the spiritual care of the Spanish population in Manila. (Source: Churches of Old Manila, Rev. Aubrey John O''Reilly, 1940) The church stood on no. 306 Calle General Luna. Designed by Perez Muñoz along Romanesque and Renaissance lines, it cost P50,000. Two rows of arches that almost reached the transepts were arranged at the sides. Traceries adorned the curvatures which left a combination of Grecian and Arabesque impressions. The upper gallery rail was of molave. Two side altars dedicated to Saint Anthony of Padua and Saint Joseph balanced the high altar. The pulpit was simple with its minimum adornment. YYY
