| General Note |
- General note - The Cagayan volunteers of 1874 distinguished themselves in the Muslim campaign, captured an enemy battle flag which they hung over the main altar of this church, built in honor of Saint Agustin. It remained there for 60 years, side by side with the Spanish expeditionary battle flag. Town officials occupied reserved seats in church, near the altar. The precedence at one time was as follows: gobernadorcillo, ex-gobernadorcillos or past captains, incumbent teniente mayor (who ought to be a cabeza de barangay), cabezas de barangay, the rest of the tenientes mayores (jueces) and the other officials and ex-cabezas. Any visitor of rank occupied the highest seat pertaining to his class. (also see CH00839) YYY
