- General note - This is a restored edifice of the original constructed by Fr. Mauricio Ferrero, who also built the Episcopal palace at the left. The Recollect Fathers were the first missionaries in Negros in 1606. In 1638, Negros was given to the Jesuits who turned it over to the secular clergy until 1848 when the Recollects returned to Negros. (also see CH00848)
