- Title - San Jacinto Church, 1880
|
| General Note |
- General note - An engraving of the brick church of San Jacinto after the earthquake of 1880, which ruined the church and the bell tower, and damaged the convent and parish school building. A riverine settlement formerly called Cawili, Spanish missionaries came to the area sometime in 1598. Fr. Jose Ferrer renamed the settlement "San Jacinto" on the 17th of August of the same year, the day when Saint Hyacinth of Poland, a great 13th-century Dominican missionary, was canonized.
