| General Note |
- General note - Gumaca was one of the later parishes established by the Franciscans in Tayabas. It was founded in 1826 with St. Didacus as the patron saint. The church in photo was constructed at about that time, although the town had been founded a couple of centuries earlier (1582), on a different location. The original settlement was established in a place now called Quezon town (on Alabat island), where a church, a convent and a catechism school were built. Razed to the ground in 1665 by the invading Dutch force, the townsite was transferred to its present location on the eastern coast of central Tayabas. YYY
