- General note - Photo of the restored façade and bell tower. Stone church was built in 1599 and burned in 1632 but was rebuilt. It was burned again in 1668. Construction of the present stone church began in 1670, finished in 1673. This area was the scene of fighting between the American forces and the Filipino troops who defended the town on Jan. 5, 1899. YYY
