| General Note |
- General note - Records say that Tarlac was organized as a praesido or fort as early as 1593. It was one of the several forts set up by the Spanish government in the area. In 1686, Tarlac became a pueblo with its own parish under the patronage of San Sebastian. Photo shows the Gothic cathedral dedicated to the town''s patron.
