- General note - Castillejos was organized as a pueblo in 1743. The town''s original name was Uguit, and was known as such until its parish was established on January 24, 1863. It was renamed Castillejos, in honor of the Marquis of Castillejos, General Juan Prim y Prats, who fought during the Spanish-Moroccan War. (Source: Zambales, Ramon de Jesus, 1990) Church at Castillejos, Zambales province. Castillejos was formerly known as Alinday at Bagatan, then Visita, as the priest from Subic would visit on holidays. Castillejos is also the hometown of former President Ramon Magsaysay, Senator Genaro Magsaysay, former Congressman Ramon Magsaysay Jr., and Antonio Magsaysay Diaz, and Governor and Assemblyman Vicente Magsaysay.YYY
