- Title - Cuyo Church beams
|
| Notes |
- Notes - An interesting feature of the Cuyo church are the sets of beams holding up the choir loft. Originally there must have been more of them, but some are now gone and the remaining ones are almost completely defaced by constant application of paint and changes of time and the elements. Strong Chinese influence is evident establishing the popular belief that Chinese carpenters or laborers might have had a hand in the construction of this church. The details are reminiscent of Chinese clouds depicted on church facades, retablos, reliefs and other artworks. YYY
