| General Note |
- General note - The church built in 1885 had an adjoining convent that was huge and massive. Here the Franciscan friars resided, since Capul was the mission center for the northwestern section of the province of Samar. Today, only one-third of it is used, for a large part of the convent was destroyed during the Philippines-American hostilities and later during the battle for liberation in 1945. With the destruction of the convent perished the parish records. YYY
