| General Note |
- General note - Seen in photo is the facade of the church of Our Lady of the Assumption, built by Fray Agustin de Albuquerque, O.S.A. in 1578. The edifice was damaged by a series of typhoons in 1880. Bishop Francisco Valdez started the reconstruction, and was completed during the term of Fr. Patricio Martin, O.S.A. Four rectangular piers support and ornament the façade. On top of the three-arched portico which crowns the front door, three niches were carved out to contain three religious images. Two other images flank the brick roof that rests on the center piers. YYY
