Filipino landscape painter; also author of land sketches and religious paintings during latter part of the Spanish regime in the Philippines.
One of the chief illustrators of Father Blanco's monumental work, "Flora de Filipinas", 35 of the signed plates being his. With him colaborated such named artists as Lorenzo Guerrero, Miguel Zaragoza, Regino Garcia y Basa, among others. Among Martinez's works, "Shrine with Wooden Crucifix", was exhibited at the Louisiana Purchase Exposition at the St. Louis, USA, in 1904.
