- Original Caption - The San Francisco Church. Inaugurated in 1577, the Franciscan Church in Intramuros was built of nipa by the Franciscans, and dedicated to Our Lady of Los Angeles. The founder of the convent was Rev. Father Pedro de Alfaro. The church was reconstructed many times, and the last one was completed about the middle of the 18th century. The church was noted for its fine architecture. The patron saint of this church was Saint Francis of Assisi whose feast is celebrated every October. Like many other Manila churches, this church was destroyed during the liberation.
