General Note
  • General note - The story is about two young lovers who live in a small island in the Sulu Sea. Danao, a handsome young leader of the pearl divers is betrothed to Minda, grand daughter of Datu Tanbuong, the island's chief leader. Returning back to the island after an expedition bringing with him precious pearls, a big celebration is Hadji Razul, a cruel, lustful ruler of piratical Moros from a neighboring island. Hadji covets Minda and he desperately wants to include her in his harem. He sees the opportunity of taking away Minda when Danao leaves once more to go pearl-diving. While at sea, Danao finds the biggest pearl. While at sea, Danao finds the biggest pearl fit for dowry but the sku offers signs that make Danao and his men return immediately to the island. When they arrive, they find out that the village has been raided by Hadji's tribe and Minda is among those who have been kidnapped. Danao and his men set out in their paraos for Hadji's island to rescue the women and avenge their tribe.
