| Summary, Etc. |
- Summary, etc. - "This narrative history is a true representation of life as it was on these Destroyers. It is educational for the civilian lay reader, the present Navyman, for the past, present and future Historian. The Narrative form was adopted in order to state the names of the personnel involved in the incidents, the battle actions, and the brief 'joys' ashore. It is written by a man about himself, and about others, all of whom were there. It stresses the events experienced by the personnel from their little 'islands'--from both the Bridge and Fo'c'sle."
