Filipinas Heritage Library turns 25 on August 23. In 1996, the Ayala Group of Companies presented the Filipinas Heritage Library as a gift to the nation in celebration of the centennial of the 1896 Philippine Revolution. To celebrate, FHL also launches a book and photo exhibit called Philippine Script. Our national language evolves by shedding away some of its past features and taking up pieces from both local and foreign languages. Illustrating this process are our writing systems, their survival in some cases as well as the revival of old native scripts.
